Detailed information was collected on all trips taken during the quarter by one respondent in each of the selected Canadian households. A trip was defined as a journey of 50 miles or more away from home, originating in one of the ten provinces, and ending between January 1st and March 31 (inclusive), 1979. This person-nights file (PNIGHT) contains one record for each location at which one or more nights was spent on the trip in question. It also contains other information about the trip and the person taking the trip. If the trip did not involve an overnight stay, it will not appear on this file.
