The journal for the period July [1895] to 30 March [1896], describes the trip to the gold fields including scenery, people, the gold strike, and crime.
Correspondence, 30 March 1895 to 20 May 1900, includes letters to his father from Quesnell and Barkerville, B.C., and Fairbairn, Washington, 1895-1898. Starting in 1898, there are letters from Dawson City to other members of his family in England describing life in British Columbia.
