Series consists of minute books, 1881-1939, of the M.A.A.A. containing minutes of meetings of directors, nomination of members, maintenance of the buildings and grounds, acquisition of equipment, appointments and salaries of staff and financial information. Series also consists of general scrapbooks of the M.A.A.A., c.1844-1898; annual reports of the M.A.A.A. and affiliated clubs, 1876-1918. Also included are the M.A.A.A. Building Committee Minute Book, 1900-1905, containing the minutes of the committee charged with acquiring the necessary land, obtaining plans and having the new clubhouse built; the Souvenir Booklet prepared for the opening of the clubhouse in 1905; scrapbook of newspaper advertisements placed by the M.A.A.A. and its various clubs, ca.1887-1894; and correspondence and minute book of the Bowling Committee, n.d., 1909-1924. Volumes 1 to 5 available on microfilm, reels H-1865 to H-1870. Volumes 15 to 18 are available on microfilm, reels H-1990 to H-1993.
