The fonds also contains photographs related to the activities of the Good family, [ca. 1915-1948].

Good, William Charles, 1876-1967 : Born on a farm near Brantford, Ontario, William Charles Good was educated at the Brantford Collegiate Institute and the University of Toronto. After working as an assistant chemist at the Ontario Agricultural College he returned to farming, eventually becoming a leading member of the farmers' movement in Ontario. In 1909 he helped draft the constitution of the Canadian Council of Agriculture. Three years later he became president of the amalgamated Grange and Farmers' Association. In 1914 he assumed the same position at the United Farmers Co-operative Co.

From 1921 to 1925 Good served as a M.P. for Brant, Ontario, first as a member of the National Progressive Party and later as a member of the Ginger Group. The same year that he was elected to Parliament, Good became the president of the Co-operative Union of Canada, an office he held until his retirement in 1945.

An active churchman, Good served as president of the Canadian Temperance Federation and was a member of the Board of Evangelism and Social Service of the United Church of Canada. He was also the author of Production and Taxation in Canada (1919) ), Industrial Conflict (1946), and Farmer Citizen (1958), as well as several pamphlets and numerous articles. He died in 1967.

Note générale :

Volumes 1-24 were presented in 1952 by Mr. Charles William Good. Volumes 25-30 were presented in 1974 by his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Latzer. Volumes 31-34 were presented in 1978 by his son, Dr. Harold Good. Volume 35 was transferred from the W. Kaye Lamb papers in 1982. Volumes 36-43 were presented in 1986 by Harold Good, and volume 44 was presented by him in 1993. The photographs were received from Dr. Harold Good.
