Fonds consists of genealogies compiled by W.J. (Bill) Miller relating to some 1200 families of Leeds County, Ontario (1398-1983). Consists of charts, correspondence, certificates, announcements, invitations, greeting cards, newspaper clippings, photographs, wills, land records, etc.

Miller, W.J., 1908 : William J. "Bill" Miller was born in Brockville, Ontario, in 1908 and began working at the local Phillips Electric Company plant in 1935. In 1947, he was elected president of Local 510 of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE). He then spearheaded the drive to oust the UE from the Phillips plant. The IUE was certified as the bargaining agent in 1953. In that year, Miller was elected vice-president of IUE District 5, and in 1954 he became a full-time staff member servicing the IUE locals in Eastern Ontario. Miller's specialty was publicity and he edited the Local 510 newsletter for a number of years. He served on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Congress of Labour in 1955. Miller officially retired in 1973 but continued to serve as a special advisor.
