Fonds consists of minutes, correspondence and other records relating to work of the Trans-Canada Alliance of German Canadians in British Columbia, n.d., 1958-1974; minutes, 1963-1966, correspondence, 1966-1967, 1974, of the Canada Ethnic Press Federation; minutes and reports, 1974-1979, correspondence, 1969-1979, of the Ethnic Press Association of British Columbia; minutes, reports, correspondence and other records of the German Canadian Business and Professional Association of British Columbia, n.d., 1963-1982; minutes and correspondence of the German Canadian Cultural Society, n.d., 1953-1978; manuscripts and clippings of Anton Pohlkamp's poetry and short stories, n.d., 1938-1959, as well as documentation collected by Bernard Hoeter on German life in British Columbia. The fonds also contains photographs taken 29 January 1973 of Dr. Stanley Haidasz, Dr. Stanley Haidasz with Stan Zybala, Vladimir Mauko, and Hans Herman Roeder with Mrs. Jennifer McQueen.

Hoeter, Bernard Walter, 1921- : Bernard Hoeter immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1952. He settled in Vancouver, where he became involved in German Canadian and in ethic community life in general. He was active in particular in the Trans-Canada Alliance of German Canadians (TCA), and during the late 1950's and early 1960's served as vice-president of the organization. He was a founding member and for many years president of the Ethnic Press Association of British Columbia, and in 1974 served as vice-president of the Canada Ethnic Press Federation.
