Fonds consists of meetings-minutes and reports; subject files; publications; reports of the Survey Committee; financial papers; register containing information in the date of birth, date of admission, court judge and final discharge.

The fonds contains photographs of Madame Georges P. (Pauline) Vanier's visit to the School, 10 April 1962; and a photo of Kathleen Moore, the early Director of the School, [ca. 1920]. The fonds also contains architectural plans of the Girls' Cottage School, 1925-1937.

Fonds consists of 11 architectural plans and drawings pertaining to the Girls' Cottage School in Sweetburg, P.Q.

Girls' Cottage School : The Girls' Cottage School was a Protestant girls' home whose main function was the rehabilitation of girls sent to the school by the Montreal courts under the Youth Protection Act. The first girls' school was opened in August 1911 and was originally called the Girls' Industrial Cottage School. The school owed its foundation to Misses Beatrice and Mary Hickson, who set up a committee and raised enough money to pay the rent and employ someone to run the school. The first president of the committee was Miss Waycott, a leader in the Montreal Women's Club, an organization instrumental in securing the establishment of the juvenile court system.

Two years after its founding the school was incorporated by Statute of the Province of Quebec under the Reformatory Schools Act. In 1922 when the Welfare Federation (then the Federated Charities) came into being, the school was included in the Federation and received support as a Red Feather Agency. In 1930 the school became officially known as the Girls' Cottage School and then in 1976 it became the Mt. Bruno Boys' and Girls' Cottage School. In 1977 the Mt. Bruno Boys' and Girls' Cottage School was merged with Weredale House (MG28-I405), Summerhill Homes (MG28- I388), and Allencroft Reception Centres to form Youth Horizons.
