Miller's essay on New York found its way into the hands of the antiquary and historian, George Chalmers, and was sold at auction in 1842 after his death. It was acquired by a London bookseller and publisher, Thomas Rodd, who printed a small edition of it in 1843. This was reprinted in 1862, with introduction and notes by J.G. Shea, by William Gowans of New York. V.H. Paltsits' edition appeared in 1903, published by the Burrows Brothers Company, Cleveland. The original manuscript was purchased from Thomas Rodd in 1845 by the British Library and was catalogued as Additional manuscript 15490. Selections from it (ff. 1-4, 7-8, 13-14, 19-23v, 25v) were transcribed by the National Archives of Canada in 1931.
