Fonds consists of three miscellaneous documents of diverse provance that relate to Dunham Township in Mississquoi County, Quebec. They consist of articles of association, 1796 for the settlement of Dunham Township; a marriage contract, 1850, entered into by William Gates and Elizabeth Clement; and a steward's book, 1806-1882, for Dunham Wesleyan Methodist Circuit, later called th Saint-Armand Circuit.

Dunham Township (Quebec) : Dunham Township in Missiquoi County, Que., was established on 2 February 1796. It was named in honour of the Honourable Thomas Dunn (1729-1818), member of the Executive and Legislative Councils of Lower Canada, who was one of the first landholders in the township.

The Wesleyan Methodist Circuit of Dunham Township was originally part of the Fletcher Circuit of Vermont, U.S.A., from which it was divided in 1806. From 1806 to 1820 it was under the care of the New York Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church and from 1838 to 1853 it came under the care of the British Wesleyan Conference. In 1854, however, all the Methodist missions of Lower Canada were united to the Canadian Wesleyan Church and came under its Canada Conference.

After the union of 1874, which created the Methodist Church of Canada, Dunham West and North Circuit came under the Montreal Conference of that church. It became a part of the United Church of Canada at the time of union in 1925 and was placed in the Quebec-Sherbrooke Presbytery of the Montreal and Ottawa Conference.
