Fonds consists of memorabilia and clippings including invitations to various social events, membership cards, newsletters, German currency, clippings, and a few official documents such as a clearance certificate, a pass, a service book, a pay sheet and a certificate of service, original, 1936-1954, 4 cm, and photocopy, 1954, 0.1 cm. Also included is History of 8402 (R.C.A.F.) Disarmament Wing by an anonymous author, an account of the activities of the 8402 Disarmament Wing, which operated in the area of Oldenburg, Germany, from May 1945 to April 1946, original, 1946, 1 cm.

Fonds also consists of photographic material that depicts aspects of the RCAF career of Lawrence Joseph Ryan.

Also included is a British poster entitled "Allied Air Offensive Against Germany up to January 1, 1941" and a reproduction of Armorial Bearings of Canada and Armorial Bearings and Floral Emblems of the Provinces and Territories designed by the Canada Year Book Division, Dominion Bureau of Statistics, 1963.

Ryan, Lawrence Joseph, 1906- : Lawrence Joseph Ryan, military officer, was born in North Bay, Ont., and attended St. Michael's College in Toronto. In 1925 he joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, but transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force, (R.C.A.F.) a short time later. Early in 1940, Ryan went to England as a member of the R.C.A.F. Overseas Headquarters. He was commissioned in 1941 and served in Canada until 1945 when he returned to Europe with the 8402 Disarmament Wing. Prior to his retirement in 1954, Flight Lieutenant Ryan was the Station Adjutant at R.C.A.F. Station Rockcliffe.
