Fonds consists of Immigrant Memoirs Contest, Ja I Kanada, organized by Dr. Matejko to answer specific sociological questions about Polish immigrant experiences in Canada and supported by the Polish Research Institute (Toronto), clippings and copies of entries, originals (2 pages) and photocopies (5 cm); clippings and printed matter concerning Andrew Mynarski, V.C., and Charles Horetzky, originals (24 pages).

Matejko, Alexander, 1924- : Alexander Matejko, professor, was born in Warsaw and received his education in comparative economics and sociology at Jagiellonian University (Krakow) and University of Warsaw. He has taught at various schools including University of Warsaw, 1959-1968, and University of Zambia, 1968. In 1970, Matejko immigrated to Canada and joined the Sociology department of the University of Alberta where he specializes in Eastern European social questions. Matejko is active in Polish learned societies in Canada and abroad. He is the author of The Upgrading of the Zambians, 1976; The Social Technology of Applied Research, 1975; Organizational Dilemmas, 1983; and Sociology of Work and Leisure, 1972.
