The fonds also contains a photographic portrait of Hill, 1942; a group photo by E. Mackintosh of headquarters staff of No. 6 (W.D.) Manning Depot, R.C.A.F., Toronto, 1942; and a reunion of former members of the R.C.A.F. (W.D.), Toronto, 29 Oct. 1948.Provenance :Nom(s) additionnel(s) :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Hill, Alice Margaret, 1916 - : Alice Margaret Hill, born in 1916 at Ottawa, Ont., was engaged in volunteer work with the I.O.D.E. and the Red Cross prior to her enlistment in the Canadian Women's Auxiliary Air Force in October, 1941. She graduated as an assistant section officer from the C.W.A.A.F. Training Depot at Havergal, Toronto in December 1941 and soon after was promoted section officer. Upon completion of an administrative course at Toronto she was appointed administrative officer at Jarvis St. Manning Depot, Toronto in January, 1942.
Hill was later appointed senior administrative officer at No. 2 Composite Training School, Toronto. Promoted flight officer, she was transferred to Training Command Headquarters in 1945. Flight Officer Hill was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in June, 1945 and discharged from the Royal Canadian Air Force, Women's Division in November, 1945.
