Fonds consists of material relating to Alexander Bannerman's investments in Canadian stocks, mining syndicates and Ottawa real estate, including correspondence, circulars, promotional material, annual reports, publications of investment firms, share certificates, assessment notices and Ottawa Tax forms, 1886, 1896-1930, 1.7 cm; documents relating to May Cole-Bannerman's personal life including deed poll, birth certificate, civil service proficiency certificate, and investment material relating mainly to Lanoraie Natural Gas Company, 1908-1972, 3 cm.

Fonds also includes photographs of the Cole-Bannerman family.

Cole-Bannerman (family) : Investors

Alexander Bannerman (d. 1930) was at one time a C.P.R. conductor. He had extensive investments in Canadian stocks, mining syndicates and Ottawa real estate. May Augusta Yorke Cole-Bannerman (1879-1972) was Alexander Bannerman's niece and heir. She changed her last name from Cole in 1933 in her uncle's honour. She lived all her life in Ottawa.
