2 photographs b&w.Langue du document :anglaisPortée et contenu :Fonds consists of a photocopy of an autobiographical sketch in which Friedrich Tressel describes his life in Galicia, his journey to Canada and his experiences as a homesteader in the Dunmore area and in Neudorf, written [ca. 1900-1936]. The fonds also contains photographs of the Friedrich Tressel family in Austrian-German dress; and the threshing outfit of Jacob Adolf, Neudorf, Sask., [ca. 1920].Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Tressel, Friedrich, 1863-1936 : Friedrich Tressel emigrated from Galicia to Western Canada in 1888. He homesteaded in the Dunmore area of Alberta in the early 1890s, but after several years of crop failures, due to drought and frost, he left the Dunmore area to settle in Neudorf, Assiniboia.Information additionnelle :Note générale :Textual records copied from originals held by Mr. Fred Tressel of Neudorf Sask.
