Fonds consists of textual material from the Canadian Society for German Relief, the Central Organization of Sudeten-German Clubs, German Canadian Clubs, personal material of Emil Kutscha, the German Canadian Community: care for the aged, social security and immigration, Sudeten-Germans in Europe.

Art material consists of one poster related to a meeting about Sudeten Germany, held in Edmonton, Alberta, in 1961.

Kutscha, Emil, 1895-1978 : Emil Kutscha, moulder, was active in the socialist movement since his youth in Austria-Hungary. He joined the Verband de Jugendlichen Arbeiter in 1911, and became "Obmann" of the "Troppauer Ortsgruppe" in the Sudetenland, Austria-Hungary, in 1912. He continued as an avid advocate of the socialist cause in his native Sudetenland after it became part of the Czecho-Slovak Republic. He was an outspoken critic of the Nazis in the Sudetenland, Austria and Germany. When the Nazis came to power in the Sudetenland in 1938, he fled to England.

Late in 1939 Kutscha emigrated to Canada, one of several hundred Sudeten German refugees admitted, and he settled in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, where he farmed until 1941, when he moved to Hamilton. Here he worked as a moulder. He organized a local Sudeten club soon after his arrival in Hamilton, serving as its president from 1941 until 1974. Active in the Canadian Society for German Relief, he was its vice-president from 1951 to 1954. He was also on the executive of the Trans-Canada Alliance of German Canadians and the Central Organization of Sudeten-German clubs, serving the latter organization as vice-president from 1957-1974.
