Sointvlan Nvoriso Liito (Sointvla, B.C.) : The founding meeting of the Sointulan Nuoriso Liitto (Sointula Young Workers' League) of Sointula, B.C. was held on 8 October 1922. Established under the auspices of the Sointula Local of the Finnish Socialist Section of the Workers' Party of Canada, the League's purpose was to organize the younger radicals (teens to early twenties) in the Finnish community and to provide them with the opportunity to participate in various social, cultural and political activities. In 1924, Sointula Local transferred its affiliation to the Finnish Section of the Communist Party of Canada, a change which was also reflected in the operation of the league.
