This is the story of Idlouk, his family and community, and their lifestyle during the continuously sunny summer of the Arctic. Narrated in English, the film details the nomadic life of the Tununermuit, and the equipment - harnesses, kayaks, harpoons, nets, and sealskin bags - and procedures for hunting seal and narwhal. One sequence shows Inuit women repairing the previous winter's clothing; another details dogsledding. Other footage shows snowgeese flying overhead; mures landing on a lake; seals basking on spring ice; white whales and narwhals on the beach; and the July ice break-up. Sundown and the coming of stormy weather mark the end of the long day. <39mn>Personnages :ANIMALS~ARCTIC REGIONS~BAFFIN ISLAND~DOGSLEDDING~HUNTING~IMPLEMENTS, UTENSILS, ETC.~INUIT~NORTHWEST TERRITORIES~SLED DOGS~SOCIAL CONDITIONS~WOMEN Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
