2 seal dies.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:Fonds consists of textual material of the Professional Photographers of Canada concerning organization, branches, finance, services, photography courses, bulletins and publications, files on various organizations, industrial division, miscellaneous, general correspondence, newspaper clippings.
Fonds consists of one series of photographs, 1952-1991, related to activities of the Professional Photographers of Canada, the Association's publication Cappac News, exhibitions including annual National Print Show.
The fonds also includes sound recordings of speeches at the Professional Photographers Association of Canada held at York University, Toronto, 1969.
The fonds contains one Professional Photographers of Canada Incorporated Masters of Photographic Arts die and one Craftsman of Photographic Arts die, 1965.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Professional Photographers of Canada : The Commercial and Press Photographers Association of Canada (C.A.P.P.A.C.) was organized in 1947 and incorporated in 1948 as a national association of Canadian professional photographers. In 1962 the name of the association was changed to the Professional Photographers of Canada Incorporated. Its purpose is to advance photography in all its branches; to create, promote and maintain a high standard of conduct in the profession; and to consult and co-operate with any and all federal, provincial and local authorities having to do with the control or restriction of professional photographers activities. Among its activities is the annual peer review of recent commercial photography.Additional information:General note:Additional material, not described here, is in process.
