There are twenty-three loose commercial prints taken in Egypt by Langaki, Bonfils and Lauro. The Canadian content includes subjects such as Charlottetown, P.E.I; the H.M.S. Royal Alfred in the Halifax Harbour; the Parliament buildings, Chaudiere Falls and the suspension bridge in Ottawa; an ice jam on the St. Lawerence River and the Victorian tubular bridge, at Montreal; Montmorency Falls, near Quebec; two winter landscapes by Alexander Henderson; the International Hotel in Niagara Falls; two views from the Notman series on Cariboo hunting ("a chance shot"); and photographs from Milan and Rome, Italy; the United States, such as Alabama, Florida, Baltimore, and Washington. There are photographs of US Navy gunboats on the Mississippi at Vicksburg and Natchez, as well as the craters outside of Petersburg, Virginia.

The individual who compiled the album appears to have been travelling throughout Ontario and Quebec, the United States, particularly the American south after the end of the Civil War, as well as journeying to Italy and Egypt.Additional information:Custodial history:The album was acquired from Phillips-Ward Price Ltd., Toronto, Ontario in 1981.Source:Private -
