The meetings addressed nuclear research, development and operation of power plants, international agreements, hazards and risks, internal administration and other related topics.
The records include agendas, memoranda, agreements, correspondence and presentations.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Gray, James Lorne, 1913-1987 : James Lorne Gray, former president of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), was born in Brandon, Manitoba in 1913. He studied engineering at the University of Saskatchewan (B. Eng. 1935; M.Sc. (Mech. Eng.) 1938). He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) from 1939-1945, retiring as a Wing Commander. In the late 1940s, he worked for the National Research Council and worked on the Chalk River Project. From 1952 until his retirement in 1974, he held senior positions with the AECL including general manager, vice-president, and president (1958-1974).
