This series is a consolidation of the distinct RCN photo prefixes for each ship, with "PD", "PH", and "PR" item numbers. These coastal passenger ships, converted to wartime RCN service, served as Armed Merchant Cruisers (AMC) and later as either Auxiliary Anti-Aircraft Cruisers, or Infantry Landing Ships (Medium) LSI(M), in Pacific, Atlantic, European, and Mediterranean theatres of war, and in major allied landings, such as Sicily, Southern France, Normandy.Additional information:General note:The b&w safety negatives can be found in CANADA.
