When the Indian Land Registry was being set up many individual land-related documents were removed by the department from files in order that they could be registered in the Indian Land Registry. Not all of those documents were subsequently found to be suitable for registration. The individual documents which were not registered were retained by the department and not re-integrated into their files.
Some, possibly all, of the files to which these documents belong are now in the custody of the National Archives. If possible, these loose documents will eventually be re-united with the files from which they were removed.
This accession consists of only a portion of the documents originally removed from the files and not added to the Indian Land Registry. Other similar documents remain with DIAND and will be transferred to the National Archives custody in due course.Original extent note:0.30 m [textual records]Source:GovernmentFormer archival reference no.:RG10-B-3Other accession no.:1997-98/360 GADRecord disposition authority no.:76/009 -
