ca. 0.01 m textual material.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:This series documents the Prisoner of War internment camp operations in Canada for German residents in Canada, at various camps in BC, Kingston ON, and Amherst, NS. Many of the photographs were created by/for the Consulate of Switzerland, Department of German Interests, which documented Canadian Camps in albums and textual reports with photographic illustration. Correspondence and camp lists are also included in accession 1968-088.
The Albums are stamped as being received by the Canadian Internment Camp Operation but marked as being created by the Consulate of Switzerland, in Montreal (Department of German Interests). Album 1 - mostly textual - titled "Christmas celebration and Dedication of YMCA Hall Interment camp, Vernon, B.C" , dated May 11th, 1918 40 pages (5 photographs). The other two albums are titled "Interment camp Vernon, Province of British Columbia" (18 photographs), and "Interment Camp Morrissey, Province of British Columbia" (20 photographs).
