This accession consists of three distinct groups of records each belonging to an existing series.
1. Series A-1-a Mining Lands and Yukon Branch 1897-1968. Boxes 1 and 2 contain oil and gas permits and files pertaining to hydraulic mining lease - Anderson Consession (No. #1).
2. Series D-1-a Northern Administration and Lands Branch, 1958-1971. Several files in Box 1 and 2 addition files in Box 2 are part of the central registry system of this branch. They contain information relating to RCMP, Department of National Defence, several co-operative associations, docking facilities at Rankin Inlet and the Alaska Highway.
3. Series E-1-a Northern Affairs Program, 1958-1983. The bulk of this accession, boxes 3 to 42, contain files from this central registry series. The subjects addressed include departmental organization, association, committees, conferences and meetings, surveys and studies, transportation, education, environmental protection and mining to name but a few.
