Collection search - Subject index to central registry files (second series, 500 block), security (SF) block, and related records (index cards) [textual record]

This accession contains the master subject index to the Immigration Branch's policy and operational files for the period 1946-1960s (the "500" block), the Security (SF) series, the "HR" series, and related records of an earlier and later date. The index was set up in the late 1940s and abandoned about 1970. It is in the form of a card catalogue divided into 34 subject headings and numerous subheadings made up of bundles of numbered cards on specific subjects. The bundles contain references to particular files and to documents in files, in rough chronological order. Cards missing from this index are found on reels M-1983 to M-1985.
