This commission, consisting of chairman William H. Clarke and Coline Campbell, was established by P.C. 3417, 25 October 1984 to inquire and report upon the annual variations of sessional and other allowances payable to members of the Senate and the House of Commons. The Privy Council Office was responsible for the provision of facilities and administrative and financial services.
The records consist of correspondence, questionnaires, and reports relating to similar studies conducted in Canada or elsewhere, salary structures of various occupational groups including Members of Parliament and Senators, and general subjects related to the work of the commission.
