The Space Research Facilities Branch at the National Research Council was created in the 1960s to provide services to scientists involved in upper atmosphere and space research using sounding rockets, balloons and ground-based instrucments. In 1970s, the branch's work was taken over by the Canada Centre for Space Science.
Accession consists of block numeric system files from the Canada Centre for Space Science and its predecessor the Space Research Facilities Branch. Included are files from the 6200 block (Agendas and Meetings); the 7600 block (Space Research Facilities Branch, including committee meetings, co-operation and liaison, operations in other locations, etc); and the 7700 block (Engineering Group, including communications, rocket projects with the Canada Centre for Space Science, etc).
