x photographs : b&w.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:Sub-series consists of booklets and lists prepared by railway companies providing genaral specifications, dimensions, profiles and the occasional floor plan of rolling stock and motive power in service. The drawings are generally of small size and some, especially with regards to steam locomotives, will include technical data. One of the booklets include black and white photographs pasted on pages to provide a quick visual guide to the user. These booklets were issued periodically and the sub-series includes successive printings for a few railways.
The Canadian Pacific Railway and Canadian National Railways are well documented but the majority of the available booklets concern United States companies.
Include in the sub-series are several rosters of equipment which are not necessarily illustrated. Engine road numbers may be included.
Some booklets are indexed, most are not. Some booklets are incomplete, others are complete but the metallic binding was removed for conservation purposes.
