Sub-series consists of some print and near-print materials, memos, logs, briefing notes and correspondence.

The sub-series reflects the role of a special assistant in a minister's office, an assignment area. Accorded to him by the minister. Mieszkalski left behind logs detailing his weekly activity in the minister's office for a brief period. He prepared substantial and substantive briefing notes for some of the minister's many events, reflecting the minister's political, as well as administrative, activities (such as trade with China, world food agencies, Whelan's trip to the USSR, as well as agricultural activities connected with McGill University and the establishment of the Atkantic Veterinary College).

Mieszkalski's responsibilities seemed to include seeds, grains and livestock production. But his key responsibility, it seems, was handling case files of farmers in dire straights requesting support from the ministry under the Farm Credit Corporation's mandate. There are 49 such case files in this sub-series, which demonstrate in detail how this important agency worked

In short, the sub-series shows not only the workings of a minister's office, and the activities of a staffer, but also contains files of note to the agricultural ministry.
