Regional desks were responsible for advising and informing the Prime Minister and his Cabinet on relevant regional issues, and for liaising with the region's elected members.
Most of the records in this series concern the activities of the Ontario regional desk, for the 1984-2003 period. They were likely produced by Marc Kealy (Special Assistant, Ontario 1989), Cate McCready (Special Assistant, Ontario 1999-2001), Charlie Angelakos (Special Assistant, Ontario 2001-2002), Erin McGinn (Special Assistant, Ontario 2001-2002), and Tenio Evangelista (Special Assistant, Ontario 2002-2003).
This series consists mainly of correspondence, personal notes, briefing notes, memos, reports, studies, submissions to the Prime Minister's Office or other federal bodies, news releases, speeches, interview transcripts, press clippings, and copies of articles.
The series is divided into four (4) sub-series: Correspondence, Events and Trips, Electoral Districts - Ontario, and Electoral Campaigns and Elections.Additional information:Conservation:The records of this series are in excellent general condition, and robust measures were taken to preserve them: all metal pieces were removed, newspaper clippings were removed and replaced with photocopies, records in a fragile state of preservation were also photocopied, etc. Lastly, records were removed from their original folders and placed in acid-free folders.Language note:The records of this series are in French and English.Source:Private -
