Scope and content:

The series consists of philatelic collections and exhibit displays on Canadian metered stamps, Newfoundland metered stamps, metered stamps used as revenue stamps (excice and law stamps) and meter slogans.

The Canadian postage meter collection, one of the most complete, contains postage meters of many meter companies (Pitney Bowes, Friden, Postalia, etc.) including many variety (types) on postal covers and tapes. The collection also includes post offices metered postmarks, military metered postmarks, government and free frank postal covers, meter slogans on Canadian Centennial and Expo'67, Olympic Games in Montreal held in 1976 and patriotic advertisement slogans during World War II period.

The series also contains a collection postal covers and postal markings bearing various types of meter stamps used in Newfoundland from 1929 to 1954. It includes meter postage stamps of Newfoundland (1929-1949) and Canada (1949-1954). Two meter stamps of Great Britain show the original indicia design adopted for Newfoundland meter stamps.

The series also consists of various exhibit displays related to the production of metered mail and postal directives. The postcards prints are included in the "Mailomat" exhibit display. Finally, it contains a collection of parcel post labels and a collection of bank seals.
