The Prairie and Northern Regional Office is based in Winnipeg Manitoba. It applies Transport Canada's programs, policies and standards in the Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut geographical area; it is the central point of contact in these areas for the department's stakeholders. This office was created as a result of the merger of the Western Regional Office (also known as the Alberta/Northwest Territories/Yukon Region) based in Edmonton and the Central Regional office (also known as the Manitoba/Saskatchewan Region) based in Winnipeg. Transport Canada activities that are handled in this regional office include: transportation policy advice and co-ordination; regulatory surveillance, inspection, licensing and certification; regulatory compliance and enforcement; and transportation safety promotion.
Boxes 1-12 and 20-22 contain cancelled aircraft registration files (SA 5008 block).
