Canadian Transport Commission. Air Transport Committee : When the Canadian Transport Commission was established in1967, former members of the Air Transport Board were appointed Commissioners and the staff and records of the Air Transport Board became part of the Canadian Transport Commission (Canadian Transport Commission Annual Report 1968). The newly created Air Transport Committee was responsible for enforcing the Aeronautics Act which applies to all persons operating a commercial airline service in Canada. It regulated commercial airline carriers, the issuance of licences, the classification of air carriers, tariffs and traffic rates. The Committee consisted of not less than three Commissioners, exclusive of the President who was an ex officio member the committee. The Air Transport Committee employed its own records system, while incorporating and maintaining the records inherited from its predecessor. RG46 General Inventory
