This system of registration was discontinued in December 1892; subsequent correspondence was recorded in the General or Special Indexes described in RG43-B-II-3 and RG43-B-II-4, with a direct cross-reference to the journals. Researchers should note that the register of letters received in the branch for the period October 1879 to January 1881 is located in RG 11, Vol. 739., The correspondence recorded in these registers forms part of the sub-sub-series described in MIKAN 134579 (RG43-B-I-1), especially Vols. 769-1155.
