Shown on the NTS sheets are land selection parcels including both surface lands (numerical) and sub-surface lands (lettered), specific sites (alphanumeric), and special harvesting areas (SHA).Additional name(s):Biography/Administrative history:Indian and Eskimo Affairs Program (Canada). Northwest Territories Regional Office : The first agency offices to be established in the Mackenzie District were those opened in 1911 at Ft. Smith and at Ft. Simpson. Various agency offices were opened, closed, amalgamated, and re-opened since that time to administer to the affairs of bands in the Northwest Territories. A Regional Office was first opened at Ft. Smith in 1965. It was moved to Yellowknife in 1972. Regional Administrative Histories, 1958-1990, (Bands, Agencies, Districts).
