Biography/Administrative history:British Military and Naval Records (London, England) : The Ordnance Records consist of 98 volumes of reports and returns accumulated by the Board of Ordnance until 1855 and after that date by the War Office.Additional information:General note:RG8M 82303/23: The commissioners included: J.W. Gordon, Col. Royal Engineers; E.R. Wetherall, Col. Chief of Staff; L. Gardiner, Lt.-Col. Royal Artillery; J. Bythesea, Capt. Royal Navy; and H.H. Killaly, civil engineer. Their report was submitted on 1 Sept. 1862 and published in London by G. Eyre and W. Spottiswoode.
