Fonds also consists of watercolours, drawings, prints, printing plates and typewritten pages for numerous books.
Also avaliable are textual records, 1912-1968 which include correspondence and memoranda, diaries and scrapbooks.
Fonds also contains films made by Lloyd E.W. Scott relating to his travels to the British Isles (1959), Iceland (1960), Greece (1961), South America (1963), and various sequences shot in Western Ontario where Scott lived.
Several maps represent towns and cities in Ontario: Alliston, Beaverton, Bobcaygeon (two), Bolton, Markham, Newmarket, Ottawa, and are published by the Department of National Defence and the Department of Mines and Resources.
Also included is an audio disc which provides the sound track for the film strip There was a bear in the road, which was produced by the United Church about the history of the Christian church in Canada, [ca. 1964].Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Scott, Lloyd, 1911-1968 : Lloyd Edward William Scott was born in 1911 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. In 1932, he began studies at the Ontario College of Art, graduating in 1937. Through the Depression years, he travelled the country, working any number of jobs to support himself. In 1949, he joined Ontario Hydro as a technician. During the 1950s, Scott illustrated a series of Canadian history texts for the publisher J.M. Dent and Company. He supplied maps and drawings for Donalda Dickie's text "My First History of Canada" and for her children's book entitled "The Great Adventure" which won the 1950 Governor General's Award for Juvenile Literature. Lloyd researched and produced illustrations for such topics as the history of the city of Toronto and the waterways of southern Ontario. During the 1960s, Scott travelled extensively, recording his trips to such diverse locations as the Arctic, Peru, Iceland and Greece, through sketchbooks, diaries and films.
