Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Campbell River District Office (formerly known as the North Island District Office) of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and its predecessors. Predecessors include the Kwawkewlth Agency. The accession includes but is not limited to records relating to: education including adult education, personnel training, educational assistance, allowances, Alert Bay Residential School, Mission Student Residences, and Alberni Indian Residential School; finance including trust accounts, financial reports, receipts, program reviews, budgetary allocations, and financial administration records; welfare including care of children, housing and community development; employment including Winter Works program and Indian Economic Development Fund (I.E.D.F.) loans; social assistance including personal case files, cheques and housing repair; law enforcement, and departmental administrative records.
