Records include letterbooks, correspondence, financial records, legal records, timber and marine records, as well as photographs, maps, plans and technical drawings which document lumbering activities on the Ottawa River.

Accession consists of photographs which document the activities and personnel of the Upper Ottawa Improvement Company, from the early 1900s to the 1990s. Subjects include ICO boats, river steamers and structures managed by the ICO, including log chutes, wharves, dams and camp buildings. There are numerous aerial views of log booms and ICO properties. Also included in the accession are three photographic scrapbooks, one which documents improvments to the Coulonge River in 1923, while the other two are photographic surveys of floatable debris along the Ottawa River in 1950. The two floatable debris surveys also depict logging practices of the time. The accession also includes photographs which document the construction of hydroelectric dams on the Ottawa River in the early 1950s, and additional photographs of logging activities in the Upper Ottawa Valley.
Accession consists of hundreds of maps and drawings related to the activities of the Upper Ottawa Improvement Company. Included in the accession are plans of log chutes and other structures, as well as technical drawings of ICO boats and equipment.Note on the state of conservation:Textual records: Some textual records are in poor physical condition. Some records have water damage, others have been chewed by mice.Original extent note:26.4 m of textual records in 88 containers plus an additional 13 boxes of cartographic material and 843 photographs.Source:Private -
