Fonds consists of three studies on aspects of the building of the Rideau Canal, 1826-1834 written by Andrew Drummond plus research notes, parts of official memoranda relating to the family, Crown land grant of 1847 to Andrew and correspondence, as well as personal items relating to Robert Drummond and John Redpath 1890-1893, transcripts, 10 cm. Family papers including a genealogical table of the house of Drummond, papers and memoranda relating to the family, Crown land grant of 1847 to Andrew Drummond, letters from Henry Drummond describing some of the events of the 1885 North West Rebellion, 1847-1885, original, 7.5 cm, are also available.

Drummond, Andrew, b. 1811 : Andrew Drummond, banker, was born in Scotland and educated at Edinburgh University. He came to Canada in 1834 and two years later became a clerk in the Commercial Bank at Kingston, Upper Canada. In 1843 he was appointed manager of the Bytown branch. After three years Drummond moved to the Bank of Montreal's branch as manager, and remained there until his retirement in 1884. He served for a time as trustee and treasurer of Queen's University at Kingston.
