Fonds consists of a letter from Edison to Holland Bros., Ottawa, 1 May 1894, concerning the first public showing of a kinetoscope in Canada, and Canadian Film Award programmes and press releases, 1951, concerning the presentation of the Edison letter; and an original Canadian patent in favour of T.A. Edison for the Edison Quadruplex Telegraph, 12 April 1875. The patent is located in horizontal storage, container 2.

Edison, Thomas A. (Thomas Alva), 1847-1931 : Thomas Alva Edison was an American inventor who was first employed as a telegraph operator in Detroit and Stratford, Ontario. He invented a printing telegraph for stock quotations, a quadruple telegraph, the phonograph, the film projector and the incandescent electric light bulb.
