Stefansson; photocopy and transcript of diary of Lorne Knight, 1921-1923; original diary of John Hadley, 1914; correspondence and report of John Hadley and John Monroe to V. Stefansson (Photocopies from Dartmouth College, N.H.); correspondence with John Batts concerning W.L. McKinlay's research and his papers in the National Library of Scotland.
In addition, microfilm material consists of the following: letters to McKinlay from survivors of the Karluk expedition and from relatives of explorers who died on this expedition, 1913-1924; letters and papers relating to the period spent on Wrangel Island by members of the Canadian Arctic Expedition, 1913-1914, later material, 1974; letters and papers to William McKinlay from Dr. and Mrs. Rudolf Anderson (Mae Belle Allstrand Anderson), 1913 to 1927; typescript work on the life and activities of Stefannson by McKinlay, 20 pages; McKinlay's account of his experiences, especially those of being shipwrecked and marooned on Wrangel Island off the coast of Siberia, published in "Karluk", (London, 1976); McKinlay's diary of the Canadian Arctic Expedition; notebook with newspaper clippings; handwritten notes, and related documents. The remainder of the textual records was acquired in 1974, 1977 and 1978 from William L. McKinlay except for the correspondence donated by John S. Batts in 1987.
In addition, the London Office of the National Archives of Canada acquired a microfilm copy of the McKinlay papers in the National Library of Scotland and transferred the reels to the National Archives of Canada.Subject heading:
