Kovalevitch, John Robert, 1896-1976 : Born in 1896 in Western Ukraine, John Robert Kovalevitch immigrated to Canada in 1914, where he became involved in the Ukrainian Evangelical Movement in 1922, and was ordained a minister in the United Church of Canada. He preached in various cities and was the editor of the Ukrainian newspaper, "Kanadadiiski Ranok" for eleven years. He was also active in various Ukrainian community organizations and supported Ukrainian cultural and historical projects.
John Robert Kovalevitch died in 1978 and was buried in Winnipeg.
