OST was responsible for providing advice to management and other areas of DOI about research and development activities, and co-ordinating some departmental programs.
Subjects include, but are not limited to: the Standards Council of Canada, committees, international science and technology missions, reports, departmental programs, and studies and projects. Programs included in this accession are the Management Advancement Program (MAP), the Industrial Research and Development Incentives Act (IRDIA), and the Program for the Advancement of Industrial Technology (PAIT).
Records are filed according to a registry system used by DOI in the 1960s. When DOI was succeeded by ITC in April 1969, it continued using the DOI registry until around 1973.Source:Government
