Accession consists of records created by the Program Analysis and Administration Branch of the Department of Industry (DOI). Records document the program administration responsibilities of the branch.

Subjects of the records include the meetings and agendas of the Industry Modernization for Defence Exports Committee (IMDE), progress reports on Canada-USA production sharing, the Civil Industry Modernization Program, and various advanced research planning (ARP) programs. ARP programs include the Defence Industrial Research Program (DIR), the DRB/USAF Collaborative R&D Program, and the Program for the Advancement of Industrial Technology (PAIT).

Records use the prefix DGI(SG) or just DGI, referring to the Director General, Industry (Staff Group). This prefix was used by the Program Analysis and Administration Branch for records relating to the administration of DOI industrial development programs.

Records are filed according to a registry system used by DOI in the 1960s. When DOI was succeeded by ITC in April 1969, it continued to using the DOI registry until around 1973.
