This sub-series consists of transcripts documenting public addresses by the Rt. Hon. Stephen J. Harper during his time in office. The verbatim transcripts document the Prime Minister's speeches, press conferences, photoshoots, bilateral meetings, interviews, scrums, question periods, official meetings, and political announcements. The events took place between February 2006 and October 2015. Also included are verbatim transcripts of addresses made by Stephen J. Harper at partisan events during the same period.

The companies contracted for this service were J&A Media Services, in 2006, and H&K Communications, from 2006 to 2015.

The creator organized the transcripts of events in chronological order. The archival team regrouped the partisan events chronologically for ease of use and access.
Each transcript has a detailed title that indicates the date and time of the event, the location, and the subject.

General note:

Various units within the Office of the Prime Minister maintained a full set of transcripts for the activities and functions of their unit, most notably the Speechwriting unit and Communications unit. During archival processing, archival staff made the decision to retain the full set of transcripts within the Speechwriting unit series, since its staff were responsible for adding the transcripts to a database and since they were an important resource for drafting and tailoring the Prime Minister's speeches.
