Series consists of videocassettes of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers (CEP) Union.
Series includes recordings of interviews with union members, footage of strikes, conferences and other public events, and published videos created for training and education, publicity, and other uses.
Subjects include working conditions (workplace injuries and deaths, sexual harassment, racism, hours, shift work), political and economic issues (deregulation, free trade agreements), specific industries (forestry, communications, science of paper manufacturing) and corporations (Dow Chemical, Macmillan Bloedel, Papier Masson, Stone Corporation), and government agencies and regulations (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission).
Most of the videos were created by or for the CEP. Some videos were created by predecessors of the CEP, including the Energy and Chemical Workers Union (ECWU), Canadian Paperworkers Union (CPU) and National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET).
