Records of the Programs Office [textual record]

Accession consists of records created or maintained by the Programs Office of the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce (ITC). The Programs Office was responsible for the overall administration of most ITC programs.

Subjects include Program for Export Market Development (PEMD), the Enterprise Development Program (EDP) public relations file, records relating to the Adjustment Assistance Secretariat (adjustment assistance had been previously administered by the General Adjustment Assistance Board, but the activities were largely subsumed by EDP beginning in 1977), and ministerial and deputy ministerial correspondence.

Inconsistencies in the file numbers and titles suggest these records may have been created by a predecessor to the Programs Office who added file numbers to align with their recordkeeping.
