The prints in this album document Canadian army activities from early August 1944. Subjects photographed include the 4th Canadian Armoured Division at Vaucelles, the advance of units of the 7th Infantry Brigade, group photos of the 14th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, the South Saskatchewan Regiment in Rocquancourt, and the Highland Light Infantry of Canada, an army and air force senior commanders conference at 1st Canadian Army Headquarters on 7 August 1944, Canadian and Polish personnel and equipment, tanks and armoured reconnaissance vehicles and crews, destroyed enemy equipment, prisoners-of-war and damaged French towns and villages, civilians, activities at a Rest Camp, No. 3 P.R. Group's concert for civilians, the arrival of Canadian Women's Army Corps personnel in France, the opening of "Monty's Bridge" over the Orne River, and the advance towards Falaise "Operation TOTALIZE", including operations at May-sur-Orne, St. André-sure-Orne, Cintheaux, in quarries and mines.
