The series includes two comic albums entitled Can-Can du Lac Noir, created by Albert Chartier and Robert Pelletier during the summers of 1934 and 1935. In 1934, they worked under the respective pen names Titi-Carabi and Toto-Carabo; and in 1935, Yoyo Tizoune and Noirot Ticoune. These comic albums were a kind of humorous blog for their day, describing the lives of vacationers at Lac Noir through illustrations, cartoons and text.

The albums provided inspiration for the magazine Can-Can, launched by Chartier and his collaborator Marcel Tessier in Montréal in 1937, with other content provided by various well-known figures from the artistic and literary scene of the time.
